First Person Shooter

Hey, im planning on upgrading to Windows 7, was using Xp then stuffed it and been using Ubuntu, if i can find a usb and am looking for a eee-capable First Person Shooter. I want it to be preferably free as i'm a youn'un and don't have an income. I might try Counter Strike: Source if i can get it to work, i have the dvd but messing with Wine with Ubuntu was too much of a hassle.

Thanks Loads,
Martin

Re: First Person Shooter

I'm thinking of getting Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and others in the series

Re: First Person Shooter

zdoom has linux binaries, you don't even have to run it in wine. It'll work with any IWAD or PWAD, too, so get zdoom, get wads, you can play all doom, heretic, hexen, etc.

Re: First Person Shooter

i see no one mentioned it, but i've tried to run Unreal Tournament 2004 and seems to run decent enough (that means around 25-30 fps in close areas maps but less in open spaces maps). Overall if you play at 640x480 its playable, quite more at 512x3**, though keep in mind that open spaces maps will always run slower.
