Has anyone ordered from Simply Electronics? If yes what was their experience?
I ordered the 901 Linux from them last Thurs, with item marked as in stock, received invoice, was charged immediately (I hate that!), and till this evening nothing further has been heard from them. Sent an enquiry by email this morning..not a peep yet. I think I'll have to call them myself tomorrow and pay through my nose for international calling rates while I get to hear some nice piped music.

I have a similar experience.
I ordered (using google checkout) last thursday as well, when it was in stock at 328,95.
They have since then lowered their price, I have however not heard anything from them.
I have not yet tried to contact them, and I'd really prefer if I don't need to call them as I also would face international calling rates (I live in Sweden).
So if you call them , tell them that more people are waiting..

I took a closer look at their homepage and I was mistaken about the pricedrop.
Instead of waiting for them, I decided to cancel my order as they're slow and new information about the swedish release has been available since I ordered. I really hope that I'll get my money back without any problems..
The 901 is supposed to be ~3600 SEK here in Sweden and it seems like it will be (mostly?) the Linux version that will be available here.

i have been trying to call them all morning with no success. If i don't get a reply by this evening I am going to cancel my order and order from Clove. They ship abroad.

Zwipz, I just managed to get through on their phone line, the guy said (not too convincingly I must say) that it should be shipped this week.

Just for info, my 901 shipped on Thurs afternoon and was in my hands 24 hours later! And everything seems to work outside of the box!

I've ordered from them this morning after they cut the price down to 314.95 (shipment included).
After they've charged the money, I've tried to call them several times and I had no response. I've contacted them through google checkout and no response either.
I'm now starting to regret having done it...

I don't feel so bad now after hearing this. I ordered a 901 from the BT shop three weeks ago. The delivery date keeps slipping, but at least they haven't charged me, and it looks like I'll only be paying the original price of £281.00 although they are now asking £300.00 for one on the site.
If anyone is interested they told me they are 'fairly' sure that they receiving some on the 27th of this month. Asus have continually failed to honour their promised deliveries to them so far though. From a slow start BT are now keeping me informed with any news on a regular basis.

After 5 emails and 4 calls just today asking them to cancel my order, it still shows as pending and of course they've still got my money!
Seriously, DON'T GO FOR SIMPLY ELECTRONICS!

Ordered via Amazon (SimplyElect site sucks and wouldn't accept my order) Tuesday, shipped Wednesday - DHL tracker shows it will be here today. So not complaining as my original ordervia Clove got me nowhere for a week.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!
I ordered from them via Amazon and was happy....arrived in two days after I paid express delivery, all ok until I notice it had a US keyboard. I contacted them and it's all they have!

I haven't got my refund yet and I asked them to cancel my order 10 days ago.
They say they issued the refund more than 7 days ago, but nothing has come into my account....
Be really careful with this people.

After lots of fuss and countless emails I have finally cancelled my order from them, I paid with paypal so expected the refund to be instant, but alas it was not 
This whole procedure has disheartened me, its so hard to get an eee in the UK and now Dell have released the mini 9 for cheaper so I'll probably get one of those instead.

For the love of god... whatever you do... DO NOT BUY, LOOK AT OR EVEN CONSIDER BEING TEMPTED BY THESE A'S'S'H'O'L'E'S. I ordered a Canon 450D camera 2 months ago but decided to cancel my order after a week as nothing was happening despite the item being in stock. I asked them a thousand times to cancel the order and refund my card and low and behold they sent the camera to me. After a long and I mean seriously long stinker of a mail to them I am still waiting for a refund 5 weeks after they received the camera back from me. I am not joking here either... yes, 5 weeks and I still don't have my money back yet. I have sent about 45 e-mails, phoned and spoken to a really big twit called Kent in customer services (Which I believe consists of only 2 people) and they have assured me the refund was being processed. 5 weeks??? is dippy the clown doing it or something???? WHATEVER YOU DO..... DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEB SITE AS IT IS SHEAR HASSLE AND STRESS. I AM NOW SPEAKING WITH THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OF MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

I bought my 901 20G SDD Linux in September 2008 from them through Amazone despite the bad reviews here.
The negative comments on Amazone were only for delay of few days and I was willing to wait up to a week after the promised deliver time of two weeks because I wanted that specific model that was not available in the shops here in Germany. Beside their price was definitely the lower among the companies that lower willing to send over here.
I got my baby in two weeks as promised. When I had to contact them through email for a change of address, they answered in few hours. Unfortunately they don't sell spares (I need a new keyboard after a coffee accident) and actually they don't offer eees anymore....
