Re: windows vista

Once I upgrade to Runcore 128 Gigs, I made the leap to Vista Home Premium. Drivers were really the only issues. In particular the wireless adapter. After several searchs I finally "caved in" and signed up for Driver detective software which found a workable driver for something called "Tendnet 300 Mps Wireless N adapter" which so far works fine. As I was just checking my HD Sound adapter and IDE ATA/TAPI are both out of date. So I'll likely update them tonight.

Updated: Looks like both the Realtek sound driver update and IDE update were a roose. Driver Detective indicated they were out of date, and both my existing were newer versions than DD was proposing to install. Go figure.  Definantely, not and endorsement for the Driver detective product. As  I recall I ran into the same issue when I installed the software. So apparently the updated product is not very smart either.

Re: windows vista

Hi,

I have a vlited version of Vista Home Basic installed on my EEE 901, works great. Wouldn't go back to XP or a linux distribution any time soon. Like DCF901 said the only real problems were the drivers but i managed to get a driver from a Tenda wireless adapter device to work, and now it all works great. I can access my wireless network and even remote desktop other machines without any troble at all.

In short it works great once the right drivers have been found.
