have successfully made a easy peay, mint 7, bootable usb. have just made one for ubuntu 9.1 and on boot there is just a small white circle rotating in the middle of a dark screen I have left it for 15 mins now

Most likely either a bad .iso or a bad image burn. Check the .iso md5sum, and if it checks, then when the Ubuntu screen comes up, select the Test disk for defects option.

Thanks. as I don't know how to check .iso md5sum i suppose I had better just download the iso again. bit of a pain as it takes over an hour on my connection

OK so I copied it again and it has loaded but on initial boot asked me for user name and password? which when I put something in stops with Authentication failed. Is this a password from when I played with easy peasy?
