dig or nslookup?

I was just doing some network stuff and realized that dig is not on the default install.  Any idea as to where I could grab the source or the package?  I did some searching for it but came up blank.

Thanks!

Re: dig or nslookup?

dig is part of bind.  As are nslookup, and host.
The source:
http://www.isc.org/index.pl?/sw/bind/vi … e=9.3.2-P2
You may be able to build just dig, not sure.

Re: dig or nslookup?

Add the Debian repositories, then install dnsutils and its associated packages. Just tested on my eee and nslookup, dig, host, etc. are there and working after that is installed.

Edited to add that you can also add the whois package safely.
