Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

Request: Homeworld 2

Requests seem a tad sketchy on the Wiki and forum posts mentioning "it doesn't work". Any further details?

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

Homeworld 2 runs great with cpu clocked to 900mhz. :-)

(Add -w 800 -h 480 to the shortcut to force it into native resolution)

Report

Lego Starwars II - The Original Trilogy

LazerTag Drivers in XP works like a charm.  Indoors is fine outdoors frame rate drops but it's playable.  Also gives option for 16:10 and 16:9.

anyone got it working on truly windows?

i hope i got it right wolf, if not just disreguard.

NWN1 is working fine under windows. Just update on-line to version 1.68 (fater installing one of the extension Shadows of Undrentide or Hordes of the Underdark) and you won't need the original CD to play.

Installed on SDHC card (8 Mb). No cpu overclocking. It's perfectly running in 800x600 mode with scrolling. I just installed the 16k texture and disabled all non necessary graphic options. On the eee screen it doesn't make any difference for the quality.

enjoy

I got it to run, albiet chuggy...I have not tried it with the LT drivers nor have I tried overclocking...I'll go try out the latter option in a moment

***UPDATE***

Even with a full 900MHz OC, I am sad to report the game was still very chug-tastic and probably wouldn't be very enjoyable...

Highly doubt it would run on the Eee...That game if I remember correctly had steep graphics requirements...

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

There are two Major problems in Starting Fifa 2005 with 3d analyze (v3.26b):

-It takes 4 minutes to load
-Game only works in 800x600, and scrooling doesn't work

But surprisingly, the game works absolutely perfect, at high details, even on 630mhz

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

Fifa 2005 takes 2 minutes to select the fifa2005.exe file, and 2 more to load the game.

I've downloaded 16 versions of 3D analyze, i'm going to try them all, as i heard that some games don't work on v2.36, but work on earlier versions, like 2.26, 2.11, etc
Maybe i can finally get Fifa 2005 to load faster big_smile

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

Phantasy Star Blue Burst is up and running using the simple install and dump onto SDHC method. Game runs good, but a little lag in busy lobbies (overclocking makes that smoother). I know someone else posted it before, but I decided to drop some screens to help give people a better picture:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/hornetx/pso002.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/hornetx/pso003.jpg

All settings are low. I reduced the shots by 40% so it wouldn't take up too much space, but as you can see it runs in 800x600. If anyone can figure out a way to force 800X480, I'd be much obliged.

Also, I'm playing off of SCHTHACK private server, so it be free. It's a pretty solid run server, and soon to be one of the few places you'll be able to play, since Sega is killin off BB at the end of March.

Planescape Torment is working with the new AsTray release. Gonna test Fallout 1 and 2 next using the app. For all those who weren't interested in using a paper clips, VGA dummy, or modified drivers, come on down, it's your lucky day.

CODUO / call of duty UO /COD UO: (i put the different names up to make searching easier)

works fine on the 8g EEE.  a few bugs but i played on my wireless connection last night on my 8G eee and it handled the game fine.

My 8g does not like to be over clocked though

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

I can confirm that Guild Wars Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North all work, though I can't get more than 15FPS outside, even running xp @ 900mhz with a gig of RAM on a 4G.

It would also be nice if I found a way to run it fullscreen at 800x480.

EDIT: I googled a bunch and found that intel's onboard graphics cards suck with guild wars, but there is a way around that. Launch the game with command line switches -dx8 -noshaders

I went from 6-10FPS outside to 10-30 after doing this.

Re: The 'Does this game work in Windows' Thread

With 512 RAM in Kamadan and Kaineng it will crash after a few seconds, giving a message about not enough memory, a gig or 2 is essential.
