I know this has been mentioned in another post somewhere, but I myself only came across it by chance. I consider it an amazing feature of the EEE, and I think it should be made known to everyone. You can rotate your EEE's screen, so that it's much easier and nicer to view a full-size page, by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Right Arrow (you can go back to normal with Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow). I just love this little trick!!!

'this little trick' was one of the reasons why i converted my eee to XP ![]()

Wish we had a feature like that on the default Xandros distro. Not that it would get much use but it would be a nice option to have.

I use the touchpad and that did not follow the rotated screen. So I was always out by 270 degress, IE mouse moved right when I wanted to go Up. I had to install a "Joke" program to get round this. Cant remember the name of this as I am at work currently.
Also reading books and comics is great now. Also some arcade games that were oriented in portrait mode in MAME appear spot on. Editting word documents should always be done in this mode as its more natural.

Perhaps you haven't installed the accompanying drivers from the Asus DVD yet? Or maybe you are using some custom display driver, like lazertag's? If you simply install all drivers from the DVD, after the XP installation is finished, you should be fine.

Hey I found the program that Momomo was talking about its called sasaka. This is how I make it work somewhat smoother for me.
I have pstart installed which lets me assign hotkeys and autostarts and also works from relative paths. (Better then your standard start button!) Anywho... I have sasaka set to ctrl+alt+f. I created a kill-sasaka.cmd to kill sasaka and assigned it to ctrl+alt+m. All kill-sasaka.cmd has in it is the following
Taskkill /IM sasaka.cmd /F
So now I just ctrl+alt+Right arrow and ctrl+alt+f to flip both
to undo I just ctrl+alt+up arrow and ctrl+alt+m to go back to normal.
aint nothin special just the way I do it.... now.
Edited bad spelling.

that should be sakasamouse http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA026826/
well i use a different approach to rotate my screen and touchpad
1. just rotate the screen first
2.right click yr desktop -> Graphic Properties
3. Scheme Options
4. Type a Name for the scheme, say "Rotate 90" , tick "Auto launch an application"
5. browse for the sakasa.exe
6. tick "Restore the display settings after exiting this application"
7. SAVE
and u can right click desktop to Select yr scheme
both yr screen and touchpad will rotate at the same time, and everythings back to normal when u quit sakasamouse
p.s. dont forget to config yr sakasamouse
if u want to use the 2 hotkeys method i suggest you to use HotKeyBind http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hotk … p?download
p.s.2: u can also save a 0 rotation as Normal, with taskkill /IM sakasa.exe /F
sorry for my bad english

Thanks All - this is great!
Edw, I like your method - it's very slick.
Again, thanks all for pointing out this nifty feature :-)

OK, what's the advantages of rotating on such a small screen? I'm genuinely curious.
Thanks!

I always rotate 270 degrees as I am right handed this placces the touchpad under my right hand.

i can't seem to rotate my screen. How do i rotate? I tried ctrl-alt-right arrow but it's not working. None of the arrow keys work. I also clicked enable hotkeys in the graphic properties

OMG, this feature would be AWSOME if i coulda either flipped the screen all the way around, so that it's flat and use it as a tablet PC, or a swivel, as i've put a touchscreen onto mine already...
regardless, awsome for displaying things to people ![]()

Settle down eeeconfuse ![]()
If the shortcut isn't working right-click on your desktop > properties > setting tab > advanced > Intel Graphic Media Accelarator > Graphics Properties > Display Settings Tab > enable screen rotation.
The screen rotation should be there.

eeeconfuse, u have to install the included video driver, or the R2h one (i think) since i used that together with EEE_Res.
