Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

Does this work on the delivered Xandros Linux in either easy or advanced mode?  It is unusual for Linux executables to use the .exe filename extension.

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

While my Eee is in the RMA process, how about someone posts pics of 1024x600 and 1000x600. I'm interested in how well text reads when interpolated, but at a proper aspect ratio.

1000x600, 1024x600 and 1024x768 do not work.  I then installed the R2H Drivers and still not change.

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

Well, the resolution scaler this guy made is much better for me ^_^ I would recommend the change, and this is because standby now works, however the resolution changes back to default 800x480, but its better than not comming out of standby at all.

All in all Great work, I'see if I can post pics in an hour or 2, I cant now I'm sitting in a lecture, and taking pictures would be rude smile

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

maybe i misread as well:

Feature work:
add support 1024x600 and 1000x600

I take it this means that widescreen resolutions are not yet working.

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

This program only needs resolutions like 1000x600 and 1024x600, option to add it to startup and only icon in system tray. smile I'm looking forward to it!

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

kkjj,

Haven't checked this out yet, but can you or do you enable 640x480 (truecolor) as a supported resolution?  This would enable gamers, who need that resolution for most older games to initialize.

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

great...no problems with truetype fonts like before...

but anything over 800x600 is fairly hard to see with my eyes.

Very impressed..where can I make a donation?

Re: EEEPC intel 915GM Virtual Resolution with Native Driver (without IEDG)

Checked out - I grabbed the R2H drivers from here - http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/R2H … 060831.zip - as it doesn't seem to want to play with the latest Intel ones.

Popped them on, went into the Display Properties, Advanced, Monitor and Unchecked the 'Don't display modes my monitor doesn't support' box, went back to the Desktop and then clicked 1024x768 on the app, closed my eyes....

Opened them and pop - 1024x768. Looks a little funky due to the scaling, but definately works smile

Sad thing is I cleared a load of games off that required 800x600 screens, else I'd tell you what they look like and performed like. I use Mame32 and providing you avoid DirectDraw (which slows things down anyway) there's not too much difference between running in 800x480 to 800x600. Even then I don't know if it's just due to the bigger resolution needing more drawn (I generally use STUN Runner as a benchmark).

Forbrowsing though, much better at 800x600! I will echo the call for more widescreen resolutions, but first a well done kkjj!
