This is a topic to present my problem solved.
When installed Ubuntu had to install a webcam skype 2.0 but not operated in both directions. I installed the driver intel (only the file intel_drv.so) xandros and worked went to work with the composite off in the xorg.conf. When the driver swapped the ucview began save snapshots all in black. To solve this go into device-> change device-> Video Format and replace the YUYV for UYVY. I hope I have helped!

thx a lot, worked fine for me! although i use the webcam somewhere between rarely and never, but still it was a minor glitch that is now fixed

How do I do this, if I type ucview into a terminal a gui appears with dropdowns that have the iincorrect video option but they dont drop down to enable the correct option to be selected?

when i try to change the device, the program itself crashes on me. I manually installed the ucview from terminal and followed the directions on wiki eee user website. Can someone help please?
