Apologies if already posted (didn't find it), but having followed the various skype/webcam threads, I just ran the easy mode applications update and there is one for skype - which now incorporates the webcam for video. :-)
Good news if, like me, you're a Linux newbie and prefer not to go through the methods outlined in the wiki

...Just found this too in the Asus Launcher -> Settings -> Add/Remove software.
Installation takes a while, but I am up and running with the 2.0 beta and video quality is very good when chatting with my friends running the Windows version of Skype! Woo Hoo!
Does anyone know how to tell if the camera power is on/off, perhaps there is a Terminal command? EDIT: I see someone did post how to enable the Camera from the command prompt -> http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=7137
Chat on!

Thanks!
Just one question: where's the changelog? What is the difference between this version "2.0.0.27-1-eeepc-2" and the standard 2.0.0.27-1? =P

That is fantastic news............ does anyone know if the scripts that were written by Berkus et al are now not needed?

So Asus just scripted what the wiki suggested right?
It's the same beta we've been using for weeks...

Yeah, it's the beta. We tested last night and it was still a bit unstable, but it was usable. It's nice to have the webcam working.

The user who provided the fix on the wiki is a Skype developer - perhaps Skype provided Asus with an "official" EEE version ![]()

Do I have to remove 2.0.0.13 before updating?
If so, how?

I think you'll probably be fine installing over the top.
