***** Although it is the easiest notebook/netbook to disassemble, but I am not responsible if you break your latch, hook or anything ..... LOL *****
It is actually no different in comparison to 1008HA for this task.
But if you "MUST" buy a 1005HA-V (White or Pink) for your other half and yet she "MUST" need a Bluetooth, then here is something you can do.
I bought a Toshiba/Asus BT-183 for this project. ( you should able to use any 10-pin base bluetooth module with connector cable! )
AGAIN: the point is "if you MUST" buy the machine other than Black and Blue! (Or I don't even think it is worth it )
Step 1, flip it over and remove 5 screws.
Step 2. look at the battery socket and notice 4 keyboard tension clips, just use little flat-head to pull out a little bit.
* it is much easier for you to remove the keyboard after you flip it back.

Step 3. Flip it over and remove the keyboard. ( if you feel resistant, DO NOT WORRY, because keyboard are secure via two tiny double side tape ) * Mark in two big red-circle ~ * 4 little red-circle show what you have done on step 2.
AFTER DISCONNECT KEYBOARD cable, remove 5 little screws in yellow-circle.
Step 4. all you need to do is your finger nail going arcoss the cover, don't worry, it is that easy.
Step 5: lift up the upper deck SLOWLY * be careful, make sure you disconnect the touch pad cable.
*by LIFTING the black latch, UNLIKE the keyboard that you PUSH outward the black latch.

Step 6: Locate bluetooth connector in yellow-circle. * unless you can find a mini half-size PCI-e wifi/bt combo, otherwise, don't worry about Red-circle.
Step 7: Now..just plug the BT into the socket and secure it at yellow-square. (make sure you have masking tape between BT module and motherboard) That's all to it.

This is a great tutorial for opening the 1005HA period.
Thanks for being so detailed. Should help many that will look to upgrade the HDD or other.
The pink 1005HA is rather nice… for a “her” ![]()

I'll sticky this thread , because I think people will find it useful..
You might want to edit your step 5 to tell inexperienced people how to release the touchpad connector latch (I know , and you know , but does everyone?)
there's been people on here that have damaged other types of connector because they didn't know how to release and the latch breaks off

thanks for the warning~
*** For those who wish to install BT module:
Toshiba/Asus BT-183 is fully competible with Eee PC 1005ha. After installed, your bios will get an option to turn on or turn off BT. ( it power by 3.3V like mini PCI-e, unlike USB dongle that require 5V - it does consume less power, but less range also )
You also able to turn on and off via FN+F2 key in the windows.
Toshiba/Dell 360 is also fully competible with EEE PC 1005ha.
10-pin cable also needed for either of the upgrade. ( dell cable will be cheaper and easier to obtain )
Both can be installed by Toshiba's Stack BT version 6.40

Nice job! I was a bit afraid to open mine since it doesn't officially belong to me, but with those handy pictures and explanations, it's definitely reassuring. What I would like to do is add a new antenna for the wireless card, to boost range.
Anyway. Thanks!

I'd like to upgrade my wireless antenna too, is this the spot for the antenna?
A tutorial for that would be great too Wacou.

I never done the antenna upgrade before, thus, I can't tell you where to do it. Other than, there is "antenna 2" socket on the wifi-N pcie mini card.

Where can i get the BT-183 cheapest possible? Found on Ebay with cable for 36$ and on the Asus repair site, but without the cable, and without shipping. Is there cheaper anywhere else?
Offline
As you can see in the picture, the card is only using ONE antenna connector........ which is weird since ALL the other Eee I have have two antenna connectors and two antenna.... I think Asus just decided to cut cost on one this time for some reason.........
I added another two antenna on another thread if you wanna try it..........
Very nice detail pictures though, helped me look at some dimensions without having to open mine again, thanks!

You can get Dell 360 for cheaper and also its 10 pin cable.
Use 2009 version 6.4 Toshiba Stack driver will work perfectly.

What is the Dell part number of the 10-pin cable (or does it ship with the 360 BT module?)

Just make sure the motheboard connector is mini 10 pin. NOT its regular inspiron pin.
( connect width should measure 1cm for Asus. regular inspiron measure around 2cm )

yeah I saw that GREAT JOB!
I was thinking more in the lines of just adding a second antenna wire. were can I even buy the antenna wire? would it even make a difference. I'll want to keep everything internal.
BTW where you ever able to fix the wifi disable option?
Offline
Never did fix the disable option....... but the battery life on this laptop is so great that I didn't really bother with it..... If I'm using the laptop, then chance are i'm on the net with wifi anyway..... so no need.
As far as just adding an internal, that should be really simple.
You can find them fairly easily...... post a wanted in the personal sale forum and see if someone will sell you one from their 7xx, 9xx, or 1xxx series........ they're all the same..........
Or you can find a flat one like the one I used on ebay somewhere........ should be about $5

Now you tell me! I just got a Dell 360 with cable off ebay and the cable plug is bigger then the MB socket. Oh well, back to ebay...

Will this one work? And is it the correct cable?
How's OSX support for those modules?
