Looks like the manual suggests all models will feature a TV tuner, but no multitouch, GPS, or 3G yet. GPS will probably be integrated onto the 3G miniPCIe card on the T91GO, so we probably won't see that feature on any other models. Multitouch is expected to be on the second-generation model, the T91A. There's also speculation that the T91GO model will feature multitouch as well.
Also, it looks like a planned feature has been removed. BIOS update 0403 has removed "FM radio" support. Your guess is as good as mine- FM transmitter, or FM receiver? We'll never know, I suppose. Although a multitouch, FM transmitter, GPS, 3G, and a TV tuner equipped netbook would make for an awesome carputer.

Slashgear is also reporting that ASUS plans on releasing 3 flavors of the T91: The T91, T91A, and T91GO.
Details here: http://www.slashgear.com/asus-confirm-t … v-0648630/
Looks like they should be shipping out any moment now (but don't hold your breath, we have already agonized through months of "logistical" delays).

Thanks for the updates and the specs dude.
This computer WILL be mine.

A tablet PC today without multitouch is stupid.

There's a version with multitouch buddy. Unless that was a random statement not necessarily assigned to the t91.

I think the first version with XP will be released without a multitouch screen. I've looked into the drivers, and it seems it features the same exact touchscreen controller as that found on the MSI Wind Top, which we all know lacks multitouch. So I'm 99% confident that the first version will be single-touch. But once Windows 7 is available, ASUS will probably then release the multitouch version (which ASUS representatives have said will come out later, once Windows 7 is available). Also, not sure if the first version will feature a TV tuner either, since they said that will be optional.
I'm really looking forward to a GPS + TV Tuner + Multitouch model. I don't think I will want to spend my money on the stripped down version. Even though I'm a huge fan of the T91, not having all the cool features just is too much of a downgrade from my 900HA.

Looks like I'm gonna have to be patient and wait for the T91A and hope that I can get it with GPS only (hint, hint).

BREAKING NEWS:
Looks like the first model to reach the US will be the The T91SA-VU1X-BK, as early as July 15th, according to ExcaliberPC. The T91SA will have no GPS, no TV tuner, no 3G, and no multitouch. The price will be $499.99.

The T91SA-VU1X-BK has been confirmed as the first-generation ASUS Eee PC T91 base model (without multitouch, GPS, or a TV tuner) to be arriving stateside as early as July 15th, according to ExcaliberPC.com (as long as ASUS doesn’t push this release date back again). It’s currently available for pre-order from ExcaliberPC.com, as well as several other e-tailers.
The T91SA-VU1X-BK retail price is about $500 at http://www.excaliberpc.com/592186/asus- … 1-8.9.html

It seems as the T91 gets closer to becoming available, the news just keeps coming in faster and faster. I'm actually hopeful we will see the T91 in a week or two.

It appears that BuyDig.com has the ASUS Eee PC T91 in stock and selling for $499 with free shipping. Too good to be true?

It's also available at excaliberpc.com. They are trustworthy, I went through them for my 900HA. But they aren't offering free shipping.

It's in stores in the Netherlands now, being advertised and on sale. Most of them may have supply problems by now though. ![]()
For the record, advertised price over here is about 410 to 440 Euros, including 19% VAT. Still have to see the actual units on the shelves though, might be that they just came in this week.
Personally, I'm waiting around a bit, if the T91Ago is to be confirmed. If I'm going for a new EEE, I want the full monty.

It's available (in stock) at Amazon right now.

The Eee PC T91 isn’t just the first touchscreen netbook from Asus. It’s also the company’s smallest netbook to date. While it sports an 8.9 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen display, the T91 is actually a little smaller than the first generation Eee PC 701, measuring just 8.9″ x 6.5″ x 1.1″ and weighing just about 2 pounds.
Wow...
I would kill to have this be fanless, larger battery, and the upcoming N450 processor (no tablet though). Would make a great upgrade from my 901.

Is there going to be a section on this site to discuss the t91, for those of us who are purchasing? Thanks. (I anticipate needing a site for my questions, comments, problems, etc.)

Got my T91 today. Have only been able to use it for about an hour, but from what I've seen so far, much better than the reviews would indicate. My recommendation: forget Touch Gate, use Firefox with Grab and Drag and NoSquint extensions, and you'll be much better off. Touch Gate is eye candy but, for me, does little to really add to the experience. Firefox with those addons works great and without slowdowns, at least so far. I mainly want this as a web tablet, ebook reader, and to keep up with email -- for those purposes, seems solid so far. But take all this with a grain of salt as it's only been an hour. I'll check back in after I've had more of a chance to poke around.

gmich: Glad you like it -- it looks like mine shipped either yesterday or today, so I'm probably going to have to wait out the weekend -- dang! I'll see if I can find and figure out the extensions you mention -- thanks for the info.
