It's called the History of Art, a visual depiction of the different genres of art dating way back. Take a look:

Nice sturdy large book that still fit in the designated laptop compartment of my backpack without any problem. Have a look inside:

I'd like to thank James over at www.freehollowbooks.com for putting this together for me, if you have time you should check out the work he does.

Haha......good idea also for backpackers (like me) if they travel abroad.

But now you can't read the book anymore ![]()
Hmmm, can you find an electronic copy of the book to put inside the Eee or would that be too recursive?!?

I like the way you think Fnordish, that would be almost a poetic idea.

Me too... Though if the book was "Eee PC for Dummies" that would be quite ironic.

I would suggest to rather use a copy of tax law amendments of 2003. Atleast you know there´s nothing worth reading in there....

epic eee case, even better than the case that came with it

Gives a new meaning to the word "netBOOK"... ![]()

I am imaging how funny it would while your using it in the public. Other people might believe you're reading a book for the blind! ![]()

Would anyone buy a netbook that actually looked like a book?
Could be a whole new market there. ![]()

Inspired by your art book I made one myself
After seeing yours, I promptly had a look for a suitable one from my wife's bookshelf then grabbed the tools, and here it is:

Photo caption: Steve Jobs, 128k Mac, and John Sculley at its launch in January 1984 [Bruce Mau, Life Style, PHAIDON pp. 64-65] The author was talking about Apple PostScript ushered a new era in typography production techniques. Even cinema started using them for credits, such as in Hitchcock's "Vertigo".
I'm quite happy with it, the cover is soft satin cloth and weigh similar to my leather case from pdair. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna drop some jaws at BORDERS coffee shop .... lol

What kind of glue do you use for the pages ?
Can't you see that the pages are glued if loking from the outside ?
Offline
Any regular PVA glue will do, but at the time I only had Titebond II Premium Wood Glue so I mixed it with metho (rubbing alcohol) so it would dry quicker .. just a bit to make it watery. Unfortunately its rather yellowish when dry so you probably better off using a white PVA glue.
No not really, you would not notice the glue unless you touch it ... It's much harder with unglued book especially making the cut plumb after a while, as I tried it with my Nintendo DS case lol ... it is made out of a softcover book.

He was thinking: "I would like to buy a new netbook, what I miss is a REAL reason ..."

I built my second computer (a COSMAC Elf) into a library discard book on civil engineering in 1977. I cut out an area for the C cells the computer ran off of, and another for the computer's PCB. I cut in little steps to support the board with holes for screws. The screw holes were drilled out oversized, filled with acrylic, then redrilled and tapped for screws to hold the PCB. It was just too cool having a computer I could tote around.
Almost nobody I showed it to believed it was a computer. After all, they knew a computer was a big room-filling piece of iron!
Wish I still had it. It got dismantled for another project that never got finished. I should probably make another.
First, I'll have to check abebooks for a copy of Modern Highway Engineering, I guess...

Maybe you can use a page from the book for a skin. I see some sites make custom skins if you send them a picture.
