In looking at the wiki page and here I have seen places saying about them and the ones I tried to add gave an error in the Synaptic Package Manager. Could someone please help we with this, I've noticed a few things I would like to install from http://www.debian.org/ but I don't know how to get the repository for it. I'm mainly interested in getting some games on my Eee PC though the ones I've found don't seem to want to run after I download their .deb files and I thought that using a repository would help with this. I know there have been other posts about this but I don't fully understand some of them which is why I started this thread.

You could try this, I don't know if it will help, but it is worth a try
open terminal (ctrl-alt-t in easy mode or launch>applications>system>console in full desktop)
enter "sudo kwrite /etc/apt/sources.list" without the "
hit enter
this should open a source list in kwrite
add your debian repositories
save and exit
exit terminal
open synaptic
hit refresh
I would think that your packages should be there.

Open Synaptic. Click Settings, then Repositories. In the URI box, put http://http.us.debian.org/debian/. In the Distribution box, put etch. In the Section:s box put main contrib non-free. Click OK, the the Reload button. Then look for the packages you're interested in.
