i just read about this program... anyone know how to get it on the 1000h, since the link which i read about this was on the 701 or something liek that...

It's not intended for use on anything other than the 701.
Some users state they have it runnning fine on their 1000H, but since the hardware is completely different, I personally think they are just asking for trouble.
In a nutshell, my recommendation is not to use it on the 1000H... I know I won't be using it on mine.

hmm a lot of people seem to have it working on the 1000h... but alrite.. ill wait for my opinions before using it then

Don't try the overclocking functions of eeectrl (I curiously pressed the "full" button and promptly crashed my laptop).
But I use it to monitor the cpu heat levels and control the fan speed (you'll probably have heard (pun intended) all about the noisy fan problem - often it's running when the cpu is cool).
So thumbs up for eeectrl from me, just remember to use it for fan speed control (technically backlight control too) only.

k thanks for the advice... can u send the link for download?

Sorry, I haven't the foggiest idea where I got it from - I do believe it was when I googled for "fan speed control 1000h" is when I found a link for it.

i downloaded it for my 1000H and any of the CPU speeds crashed it. turned the screen white or green, and nothing worked. but the fan speed and the the monitor work great. i wish i could overclock a little bit sometimes.
this is the link i used

perfect... did you remember to disable ur super hybrid engine before trying to overclock features on eeectl

Beware! You can seriously screw up your EEE. You owe it yourself to read the two threads linked below

The current config at EEECTL is mainly designed for 701... you may need to change some setting in the ini to suit your 1000H. Good luck ![]()

I'm using it without problem on my 1000H, but only to control the fan speed. In the forum there was a download link to a version of eeectl with the .ini file customized for the 1000.
Might be a good idea to edit the .ini file so that it can't be used for overclocking, just the fan. I might do that, to save myself a hassle if I inadvertently click the wrong menu item.

yep idownloaded the program... and like everyone said the fan and brightness adjustments work.. but the overclocking will freeze up the computer... so... in conclusion i dont rele have any use for the program.. gota find some other way to over clock this thing... i heard some people say "setsfb" works for overclocking.. i mite give that a try

they have a beta for the 1000h, just make sure you download the right one.
Also you can achieve overclocking with setfsb, and while I have had nobody really say they have used it I am 99% sure that clockgen works too.

I thought the Syper Hybrid Engine did the same thing in Super Performance Mode.
Offline
It does but SP mode is 1.7ghz, these other programs can take you higher. Most seem to get 1.8 pretty easy, less get to about 2ghz stable.

eeectl runs fine on my 1000H without any config changes or anything. But I use it ONLY to quieten down the fan, NOT for overclocking or overbrighting.

Don't use Windows XP on Asus 1000H because it was designed before this netbook was released ! ![]()
EEEctl works fine on any EEE PC because it access the same ASIC. You only have to find the right setting. BTW, you even don't have to find them by sourself, there are a lot of topics with eeectl.ini for 1000H or 901.
Did you really think Asus build a brand new set of chips to drive each EEE PC ?

I downloaded a 1000h specific version of eectl from this link, and that works fine for me on my 1000h on XP, including overclocking the cpu. MyComputer in XP even shows the overclocked speed.
But remember to disable SuperHybridEngine first, and then run eeectl. Or take SHE out of Autostart, and put eeectl in.

be aware its NOT a 1000h specific version, it is STILL the version made for the 701, but with a moddified ini file.. and after you use it you wont get your system back to exact stock bus speeds until you power off and remove the battery. and reboot without enabling eeectl.

True ! It's due to PLL step witch is not the same for 1000H. Because of this issue, I use SHE to handle the frequency (i don't care about performances/oc, Atom is damn too slow vs any mobile CPU) and EEEctl to drive the fan (off most time).

I only use EEECTL for the rare case that I want to manualy adjust fan speeds.
Would not recommend using it for overclocking or anything else, on a 1000H.

eeectl was written for the ICS9LPR426AGLF PLL, and the 1000h uses a ICS9LPR427AGLF PLL, so i guess they are similar in some ways which is maybe why it sort of works.I have used eeectl to play with overclocking a little bit, and sometimes use it for fan control, setfsb is another option for overclocking

Why do you need EeeCtl when you have the Super Hybrid Engine ?

Uou! I'm using eeectl v0.2.4 for my 1000h with the propperly speed levels to overclock the system (I use cpu-z also to see it) and I didn't see any problem... I played battlefield1942 at 2.0Ghz (70ºC) Cpu and when I finished turned it to 990Mhz without any problem.. SHE can't reach that speed!
(Be sure to make she stop before that...).
I don't know what problems about you're talking....
