I got my patriot warp 64GB SSD from mwave today!
Got it in my 1000H,
Still playing with it, but so far it looks promising,
vista installed in 18 minutes flat!
I will post some more results once I have them.

I'm sorry... I don't use Windows Vista, and so I don't know how to read those... I take it those are the ratings for the Vista experience when Vista's running off SSD on your 1000? What's the 1ary HD rating with the 1000H's internal drive?

It really doesn't tell very much. It isn't the best benchmark in the world. It is based on scores from 0-5.9
Most 100H have a 4.6-4.7 rating
this ssd is maxed out at 5.9

Please try to do multi-tasking (open several windows, run several programs and watch a video at the same time) and see if this drive shows any lag. This is one major complaint to the MLC SSD. Thanks.

yeah...the problem is multitasking. canned benchmarks tell us nothing.

Well anything has to be better than the OCZ Core SSD. I have the 64GB version and it is horrible in my 1000H. It freezes all the time and forget about multitasking. This is a big issue with the OCZ Core drives but OCZ does not want to acknowledge it. I have a Patriot coming so I am very interested if it doesn't have the same same issues as the OCZ Core drives.

I just opened a bunch of windows, had a youtube video, and had half life 2 downloading content to the SSD at the same time. No issues so far.
I am going to run my same test of installing adobe acrobat reader and time it and see how it compares.

The product description on Newegg says read speeds of up to 170MB/s. Seems like it will saturate the EEE's SATA interface (1.5Gbps). If only it had a 3.0Gbps link, you could squeeze even more performance out of that SSD.

woooowww!! this sounds good! Please do more heavy multi-tasking and tell us the performance. After reading on the OCZ forums, I am terrified by the stutter/freezing and related issues of SSD.

Pretty impressive! Patriot ssd seems fast! Maybe you can do a youtube feature of your tests. I was waiting for this post, as I really want to buy one of these already. $200 (after rebate) is pretty good already.

I have spent the day with it, in school, multitasking, loading a few games. I am very impressed by the game load times, and I haven't noticed any stuttering at all so far, at least with my usage, which is fairly taxing on a system, loading a few xcel docs, onenote recording audio in the background, and browsing with several windows. I am very happy so far, I will post a good video later today.

That's an SLC ssd right? So no lag whatsoever?
Pretty cool. So I guess that's what I'm ordering. Thanks for the feedback ![]()

cbutters -- this is what you got, right?
I may just opt for the 32gb ssd, since it's only $100.

I have been running Core series v2 60 GB for a week now. No problems so far. It is faster all the way on the same ATTO benchmark as Patriot . Write/read transferrate at 8192.0 is 86175/121185. It was so easy to install. Connect the mini usb port to the 1000h ant it pop up as a preformatted NTFS drive ....wow. I did restore my Acronis True Image 11.0 backup from an exrern USB device direct to the Core disk connected via USB. Checked that everything was alright. Replaced my drive inside the 1000H with the Core drive and pressed F2 and saved. 1000H autodetected the new drive. Now the whole system was up and running. My photoshop Elements 6.0 with a lot of photos now loaded very fast. I am very satiesfied.

Wow! Thanks for the info, cbutters and oldswede!
So now we have some options
At least now we know 1st hand that the OCZ Core V2 and the Patriot Warp ssd's are working very well. Will be choosing between the two soon.
Thanks!

temperature seems low, although I don't have any way of really measuring. And battery life reads 7 1/2 hours with brightness turned down and wireless off. So seems pretty good.

cbutters, you are quickly becoming my hero of this forum.
I love how you covered the most important issues in the video, which were the multitasking and writing of small files. As you had mentioned, benchmarks mean nothing!! It's real-life applications that are the most important.
Thanks again cbutters.

I am running OCZ Core V2 60 GB almost three days now,no prob whatsoever.Excellent drive.I was really scared that I will stumble into probs but no,the installation was swift and works great. For anyone interested here is my post with the ATTO test and how I carried out the swap: http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=43540.I am surprised to see that Patriot and OCZ V2 have almost the same test characteristics.
