Mine shows 450-550 threads in task manager, if that's what you mean, with the updated 0901 BIOS.

New 1000H's come with a 0901 BIOS, but there was a specific update to that BIOS, without changing the version number. The new BIOS is not registered on the Asus update utility, however it can be downloaded here and updated using Asus Update and selecting "Update BIOS from File". You can either select to update from .zip or .ROM, depending if you've unzipped the file you downloaded.

Re: everybody here their 1000h can hyperthread n have 2 threads?

Hmm, I might've been wrong, on the update page there's no two different 0901 versions, just 0601 (2008/06/30), and 0901 (2008/07/21). I just don't see how they could ship the 1000H with a BIOS from 5 days ago, which is why I thought it was an updated version. I don't know what to reccomend however; I'm not experienced with BIOS flashing. See this thread for more info on the 0901 BIOS.

Re: everybody here their 1000h can hyperthread n have 2 threads?

Hyperhtreading has little to do with what bios you are running.  I have hyperthreading running on mine, but I'm still running the 601 bios.  I suspect the reason hyperthreading is shown as working on mine is because I've reinstalled Windows (almost as soon as I got it I put an nlite'd version on).  I suspect all that adding a new bios such as the 901 does is cause Windows to re-detect your hardware and configure itself appropriately.  So I suspect that the fault lies with the way the default install of Windows is set up, not the Bios.

Re: everybody here their 1000h can hyperthread n have 2 threads?

I had bios 601 and no hyperthreading.
Installing bios 901 enabled hyperthreading.

The Asus update program is confusing as it allows you to get the BIOS file from so maany places.  The direct update (automatic file selection) only brings up old versions of the BIOS.  You need to manually go to the asus website and search for downloads for the eee 1000H, there you will find the latest BIOS.  Download the file, unzip it then use Asus update program but select bios from file.

Hope this is helpful !

Also be aware that for the first automatic reboot after BIOS upgrade you must select F1 to enter setup and check the clock etc.  F2 is stated as an option (continue) but for me  it didn't work.

have a look

i also had only 1 thread but after formatting and installing fresh xp sp3

the os automatically detected my other thread

I'd say you need to format your C drive and install windows from a proper install disk... NOT the recovery disk.

One other thing.. you have ACPI files installed correctly?

Re: everybody here their 1000h can hyperthread n have 2 threads?

Just bought my 1000H here in Thailand.

Comes already with 0901 BIOS, but NO Hyperthreading. Only one Thread in Windows Task Manager.

After downloading the latest 0901 BIOS from ASUS Support website and extracting the file to C:\
i updated the BIOS with ASUS Update Utility by choosing "Update BIOS from file" and pointing to the
extracted file on drive C:\.

After rebooting Windows Task Manager showed 2 Threads, so there is no need to reinstall Windows.

Re: everybody here their 1000h can hyperthread n have 2 threads?

This might be a stab in the dark but if your having trouble with windows not showing the hyperthreading stuff, there might be an Update needed and SP3 for XP should include it. I only know because for over a year I had a Dual Core pc that I didn't realise it needed the update to actually reach it's full potential so could be the same for hyperthreading.

Hyperthread  out of the box smile BIOS version 0601, havent upgraded since the only issue I have with current BIOS is the screen that starts at max brightness with every boot. I'm afraid to get the 6min boot time if I update to 0901

Didn't happen to me at all with 901 upgrade. Just downloaded to asus upgrades file and did it through there.
