I've installed PCLinuxOS MiniMe 2008 on my 4g Surf. So far everything works perfectly, except for ACPI. I've followed the instructions according to http://wiki.eeeuser.com/minime.html. However the driver provided here is version 1-16, while the version in the instructions is 1-4. Following the instructions, at step 2.II, it says it's dependant on Kernel-2.6.22.17.tex2, as opposed to 2.6.22.15.tex2. I'm new to Linux (but a quick learner), so any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

I never was able to solve this problem, but ...
tip: Go to
http://www.mypclinuxos.com/forum/index.php?board=86.0
-> hardware
-> acpi drivers
and look at the post. I believe there are later ACPI versions but be warned. Not all of them work wth the current kernel you have.
(EeePCLinuxOS is not supporting MiniME, but all the drivers are from EeePCLinuxOS.)
Another angle is to try eee applet

Unfortunately MiniMe is missing the latest libgksu2... stuffs - maybe in synaptic by now - I haven't tried for over an month.

Update:
Open up synaptic and install acpitool, a command line for some acpi functions (haven't determine whether it got everything).
The main acpitool page is at

Just update to kernel 2.6.22.17, it's now the preferred kernel that PCLinuxOS runs. Once upgrade the ACPI package and the MadWifi Packages will work fine. Also check out the forums as there's Wallpaper RPMS and KDM rpms that will spruce things up a bit.
