Re: My first Tablet mod

Looks very interesting. Can you post some close-up pictures around the modded area so we can see what you did?

Re: My first Tablet mod

No i havn't installed a touch yet. and i will try take some new pics tomorrow with more light.

i have cut the screen cover from connectors, and turn it around, and make a hole in the back at the screen cover for the wire.
and also i cut the metal plate under the keyboard that i removed. right now the screen is taped together with the rest. hehe

Re: My first Tablet mod

AFAIK you're the first to actually do this, so taping together is acceptable for trail blazers wink

Re: My first Tablet mod

I must say, this EEEPC reminds me of Thinkpads, and to me, that's pretty cool.

Re: My first Tablet mod

That's a great start to a great mod. From the pics & description you gave I would think further modding could reduce the overall thickness quite noticably, mainly by removing the back plastic of the screen and the 'wrist rest' plastic which holds the keyboard & touchpad.

Re: My first Tablet mod

looks good, way better than bunch of people who only talks about "is it possible to..." and not actually do it. Good job.

Re: My first Tablet mod

Amazing work. I'd love to have a touch screen tablet style EEE for an idea I had earlier this week. I want to wall mount one in my bedroom to act as a calender/schedular, media player, digital photo frame, weather forecaster, remote pc monitor and whatever else I can think of.

I like that Idea... you'd only Need the 2G surf and some extra memory (Y HALO THAR MR. SDHC) to install th apps, and hey, you've got it. Have a photo screensever on and it becomes a piece of art! Affixing it to the wall might be difficult. It may weigh less than a kilo, but thats stiill quite an amount hanging on your wall by some unknown means...

I have an old omnibook sans case mounted on the bathroom wall.  Sometimes i plug it in and put in a wireless card before partys to amuse people.
