Freeware personal finance application Jabp

In case anyone is looking for a personal finance application to run on their eeePC, I thought I'd just mention Jabp.  Jabp offers multiple accounts, categories, currencies, investments, standing orders (aka scheduled transactions), net worth calculation, future balance prediction and more.  It's written in Java and so it runs on many devices, including the eeePC.  If you want to test it, here are quick-and-dirty instructions to get it running.

1. Ensure Java is already installed by opening a terminal using CTRL-ALT-T and typing java -version (if not look elsewhere in this forum for instructions)
2. Point the browser to http://www.freepoc.org/download/Jabp216.zip and download (let's assume to My Documents).
3. Open File Manager, navigate to Jabp216.zip and click on it.  Locate Jabp.jar and drag-and-drop to My Documents.
4. Go back to the terminal and type cd "My Documents" followed by java -jar Jabp.jar

Then follow the on-screen instructions.  There's also a user guide contained in the zip.

Jabp uses the full length of the screen, so you might want to (temporarily) turn off the taskbar by clicking on the icon at the very bottom right of the screen.

Hope this is useful.

Best regards,
Malcolm
