So I bought a 1215n in October of last year and haven't had any problems with it until now.
It has power when pluged in, but the battery won't charge. The power icon on the system tray says "pluged in, charging." but also says "0% battery". When I unplug it, it shuts off. I did use the battery until it died the other day, but I didn't think that would ruin the battery. I let my 1215n "charge" all night but it still says 0% battery and won't turn on unless pluged in.
LED on the power chord is on, everything sugests that the battery is charging, but it isn't.
other thought: The battery icon 'fills' when it boots up, then for another minute or so, then it has a plug icon on the battery, but it is no longer 'filling up'.
Please help! I love this little thing. It works really well most of the time.
*note* sorry for the typos, but it wouldn't let me type "pl*ed" or "S*ests"

Did you turn off Windows power management to make sure problem is with the battery? System normally shuts itself off if the battery capacity registers as too low.
If it is the battery then it could be either that the battery needs replacing or the AC adapter is not providing the system with enough power to charge the system. Since the battery needs 1v higher than its output to charge. So you can see if it charges when system is off... While you can also clean the contacts and make sure the battery is securely locked into position.
Lithium batteries though naturally wear out over time and not all the cells in the battery will necessarily last the same length of time. So it could be one of them gave out and is why the battery is no longer working. You could pop open the battery and replace the cell but it's a little dangerous because if you rupture a lithium battery and expose its contents to air then it combusts and can even explode. So if the problem is the battery then usually just replace it...
