Newegg has 3 new colors out for purchase. Didn't see a press release anywhere about them being available, but supposedly they're in stock!

The 2G Surf was always supposed to be in colors. If you look at the box your 4G 701 came in, you'll note there are pictures of the same colored Eee's on it. ;)

haha, I haven't gotten mine yet, actually. It's sitting out in front of my door, waiting for me to get home from work x_x

don't mean to be sexist but the colours are so baby shaded and ... girly.

I would rather have an eee than no eee at all, but baby blue or baby pink/green are not the colours Many would buy.

I really hope that they didn't make too many of the pink ones, they won't sell well. laptops are like bathrooms, look good in shades, not baby shades or colours.

The thing that I notice is that the whole lap top should be the same color NOT just some of the pieces. I think it looks weird and unpolished. If the whole lap top including the bat pack were the same color I might entertain choosing another color, but not they way they appear now!

I think they did a good job of appealing to the female audience, though, since the smaller size and cute colors are likely to attract that type of consumer.

...and I think that's proven by how "adorable" my girlfriend thinks the new colors are are, and how much she wants one >_>

I am fairly sure there is no silver eee pc.


The first two colours are for the non-surfs. Pearl White and Matt black.
All of them apart from the first white are for the surfs. The thrid one is a matt white colour.
This is the way I thought it was?

Please click the link in my post, looks pretty silver to me. As far as I am aware, there is only 1 shade of white, can you prove otherwise?

New Egg has pure white surfs and pearl white 4Gs. I believe W0lframit is correct.

Thanks Jimbo. It seems that the first white on the box (looks like silver) is the pearl white one.

There is also a picture of the white surf. Notice the white matt finish?

Not too sure what the differences are in the two whites...

one guy compared the peral white shade to somthing that was white sitting in a smoker's house for awhile.

I though that was a fair comparision =D

only for lid, and would look bad covering up a colour. only on black, would one of those work for me. white too...

well if you get the other colours of the eeepc they are only the lid anyway these are custom any pic you have or design your self

yes but unless the sticker coveres every square millimeter of colour on the lid it would look odd.
