Hello,

My question is simple : is it possible to plug an external screen on my EEE top ?

I doubt of that because I didn't find any VGA nor HDMI ports on the computer.
I just found some USB ones...

My problem is that the screen is broken. I called the asus support to see what would be the price to replace it but they could tell me it : they said that I have, first, to send them before they could tell any price...

Thank you in advance for your help.

probably not a vga or hdmi one then ;) ,

you could use a USB panel adaptor like this >> http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item335f30cd50

or an USB lcd monitor like this >> http://www.google.co...A&os=tech-specs

or take the top apart and discover the panel part number form the back of the panel, then google it

Hello almost invsible,

Thank you very much for your response : I absolutely didn't know that USB to VGA exist, it's so weird! So it's possible to add an extra monitor to any system ?! Interesting... And without drivers ?! Crazy!

So I have already a screen, which is touchscreen by the way. So I was thinking of using it instead of the broken monitor? Are you sure that it will work ? (it's ok if the touch feature don't work)

50$ for a cable, it's pretty expensive, I just wanted to make sure that it could work in case of I was missing something.

Thank you in advance :)

It's quite a recent product/idea.
Just gave you the 'cable' link as a randomly plucked example - Check out a general search >> http://www.google.co...3472a1bb9b596b6

you might have to add 'adaptor' to those two search terms to narrow it down, there's a fair bit of electronics in that 'cable'
usb to vga is by no means a straight through cable connection.. if it gets you out of your pickle it's cheap ;)

another link for monitors http://www.google.co...itor&hl=en&aq=f

a vga monitor on those will work , I doubt a touchscreen monitor will work, but you can only try .

The usb monitor is also a randomly plucked link - shop around.
