Do you have one for the 1005ha because I have not found one. Also I would need shipping to Canada.

Thanks,

Kyle

How much do these batteries stick out on an EEE 701? Do they just stick out the back, or do they extend beyond the sides of the computer too?

I love my 701 for travel, but I'm only getting about 2 hours per charge on the original battery, so as long it's not too big I'd seriously consider lugging around the extra weight of one of these big batteries to get the longer battery life. The weight is listed in the specs, but it's hard to tell from the picture of just the battery how much it will stick out compared to the stock battery.

Bottom extending type...

The rear extending version looks like this...

The rear extending version is usually cheaper and prevents pushing of the screen all the way back, but is usually easier to carry. The bottom extending version is higher quality and raises the screen and slants the keyboard for easier desk typing.

Thank you for taking the time to post pictures! I think I'm going to have to get one of these, probably the rear extending version. I am guessing that the battery on sale at MDD is the one that extends back, not down. At least that's what it looks like from the small picture on the website.

If anyone can confirm that, I'd appreciate it. If I'm going to buy, I'll probably give MDD a try just because of their presence on this forum even though I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about them around on the net.

The battery that we offer for the 701 is a bottom extending version.

Thanks for verifying which battery it is. I placed my order today after doing more research and reading several comments from people that have this larger battery and like the way it fits in their 701. I'm looking forward to finding out what kind of battery life I get from it and to seeing just how much more bulky it makes the computer. I'm going to be doing some traveling this fall and am hoping that even with the larger battery my 701 will still be easier to carry around than my 1000he.

Either way, it will be great to have an extended life battery for my 701. :)

I just bought a 10,400 mAH battery for my 701 on Ebay from the seller "buyathome888" for $42. The seller has a great rating and it arrived from Hong Kong in one week. It fits precisely on my 701, came with an 80% charge, and was fully charged in minutes on AC. The color isn't quite the white of my 701 but only a real purist would object and who really cares: it's an instrument to use, right? And, contrary to what I feared from reports of its "massive" weight, the battery doesn't make that much difference when carried in a bag, not enough to discourage taking it, unlike a larger laptop. The battery also raises the back of the 701, increasing ventilation and making typing easier. Incidentally, it fits into the original stretchable case which came with the 701, along with a USB wifi N adapter, a USB mini-mouse, and an 8 foot 10/100 cord which rolls up into a small circular case (bought on E-bay for $3/delivered). Likely I could fit the AC adapter into it too.

Hey zeo: Any battery capacity screenshots you're will to post on the MDD 10400mAh battery?

Wait a sec, that MDD battery is symmetrical down the middle. With 7.4V (single cell 3.7Vx2), how the heck do you cram 9 cells in there??
