Most drivers were found by Windows but I had to install the wireless LAN and audio drivers that came with on the EEE Top driver CD.
Once I ran Windows Update, the ATK and card reader driver were updated too.
The problem I had under Vista with the wireless LAN (sometimes it would only work after hardware manager/disable/enable) seems to have gome completely :-)
The Tablet PC features are all present as they were with Vista. The handwriting recognition and on-screen keyboard are slightly better too. The keyboard now goes mostly transparent when focus changes to another window.
Performance is pretty good again even with Aero enabled.
A big plus for me is that the MCE (and maybe WMP too) seems to buffer a bit more before playback. This means smoother DVD/Recorded TV streaming over wireless LAN. Something I have been doing a lot of.
I have seen some really cool Win 7 MCE touch screen demos on YouTube but this functionality doesn't seem to have made it into the 7000 build. Either that or I haven't got it enabled somehow or the EEE Top touchscreen doesn't support it :-( I'm pretty sure (hopeful) it's not implemented yet though.
There you go. If you were thinking of giving Windows 7 a go, it will run on your EEE Top.
BTW, mine is standard (1GB) with the Windows power profile - High Performance selected and with 4GB SD card configured as ReadyBoost.
If anyone is interested in this topic, I can put a video on YouTube of Windows 7 running on my EEE Top. Let me know what you'd like to see.
