I've lost my wireless mouse...both the transmitter and mouse itself. Can another PC detect the signal of another PC's wireless mouse? They were a gift.

depends mouse needs be on, need have same kind transitter, and some mice you need press button on mouse to sync comunication, so chances may be slim.

If you lost the transmitter doesn't that mean it would be unplugged from the machine and therefore not transmitting a signal? Anyways, the RF power output is extremely low - if I place the TX at the end of my desk the keyboard cannot pick it up, so even if you did have an RF sensing device you would have to be close enough that you would see the damn thing anyways!

PS: how do you loose a transmitter and a mouse?

In my case it would be because I lost the case I keep my Eee accessories in.

I'm assuming IE2FF is trying to find the mouse with a version of the same technique one uses to find a misplaced cellphone?

Regardless, good luck with the mouse hunt.

Could I perhaps suggest you try using an RFDOG to find the RFKAT ? Once you have it then you can employ the RFKAT to find the RFMOUSE again.

Be careful when purchasing an RFDOG that you do not get the .corgi variant. Some of these units have a software glitch which causes the unit to confuse the identity codes of the RFKAT with those of the RFSQUIRREL, the RFBUNNYRABBIT, and even the RFMOUSE itself.

The results are not pretty.
